Need funding to develop your Interactive and Digital Media ideas? Receive a grant of up to S$55,000 when you apply for the i.JAM (IDM Jump-start and Mentor) Micro-Funding Scheme through NUS Enterprise Incubator (NEI).

Under the IDM i.JAM initiative, individuals and start-ups will receive mentor support and funding of up to S$55,000, to help develop their ideas into products and services. As one of the appointed mentors, NUS Enterprise administers the i.JAM Micro-Funding Scheme on behalf of Media Development Authority of Singapore.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants can apply as individuals or companies
  • For individual applicants, they can be from any nationality if majority of the work is based in Singapore
  • For company applicants, the company must be registered as a legal entity and incorporated in Singapore
  • Projects must be rooted in innovative R&D and technology, (must exhibit IDM R&D in either technology, creative, social or business model)
  • The team should have at least one full time founder, who holds at least 20% of the project stake.

Forms of Assistance

Under the i.JAM Micro-Funding Scheme, the grant covers up to S$55,000 qualifying cost of the project. Examples of major allowable costs are:

  • Subsistence allowance of applicants (subject to a cap of S$600 per applicant per month)
  • Third-party manpower costs including advisory costs
  • Marketing expenses including overseas business travel
  • Research expenses and
  • Equipment and software

About i.JAM Micro-Funding Scheme

The Interactive and Digital Media R&D Programme Office (IDMPO) under the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) launched the IDM Jump-start And Mentor (i.JAM) initiative in 2007. The i.JAM initiative aims to grow a self-sustaining capacity for continuous grassroots innovation in the IDM sector.
