The increase in demand for clean energy, clean water and clean environment is a global trend that can no longer be ignored. In order to support the needs of aspiring researchers, inventors and entrepreneurs who are venturing into these fields, NUS Enterprise Incubator (NEI) has set up a dedicated cleantech incubator that will provide mentorship, facilities and funding resources.
One unique feature of our incubator is that companies incubated by us will benefit from the advice and support of a strong global network of experienced mentors and business angels who can help make your business a success.
This grant is managed by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), to support start-ups in the clean/ renewable energy, water and environment sectors. NUS Enterprise is the first integrated, cleantech incubator, which has been approved by EDB to evaluate and recommend projects for funding. The scheme provides a grant of up to 85% of qualifying costs for approved projects, capped at a maximum of S$500,000 per project over a period of 2 years.
Eligibility
Companies less than 3 years old which are incorporated and headquartered in Singapore. Projects must be in the fields of clean/renewable energy, water and environment technologies.
Evaluation Criteria
- innovation or intellectual content
- high growth potential
- scalability for the international market
- technical and market feasibility
- economic spin-offs to Singapore
Eligible Costs
R&D and business activities, including manpower, training, loaning of equipment, and professional services. The support for remuneration of founder(s) of the company should not exceed S$120,000 or 24% of the grant amount, whichever is lower. All other expenditure with parties or entities related to company or founder(s) will not be supported.
Conditions
Any IP developed must be owned by the incubated company and commercialised from Singapore.
